Planetary Imager,  Wayne Jaeschke (www.exosky.net) Presents at NJAA.

On March 9, NJAA hosted Wayne for his talk on "Planetary Imaging".

He shared a wealth of information on the subject and was gracious enough to allow us to record the audio from his talk as well as post his Power Point Presentation for all to view and hear!

On my server under the folder NJAALIB which everyone can access (see details below and on the NJAA Website), I created a new folder named "jaeschke".

It contains the following files:

1.  Wayne Jaeschke Part 1.m4a

2.  Wayne Jaeschke Part 2.m4a

3.  Wayne Jaeschke PPT.pdf

The m4a's are the audio recordings and the pdf is his presentation less the one image he requested that we remove before publication.  The PDF is made available to those with portable digital readers (iPad, etc.).

Welcome to what I hope becomes a valuable resource for members of the New Jersey Astronomical Association (NJAA) and those interested in Astro Photography.

For those not familiar with NJAA I invite you to visit our website www.njaa.org for more information.

The purpose of this Blog is to provide a place where we can interactively post our progress on the pursuit of Astro Photography.

One of the resources available to our members is an FTP folder that contains a collection of helpful information on the equipment available at the observatory.  To access the site you simply need to use an FTP Client.  “Filezilla” for Windows or “Cyberduck” for MAC OSX are recommended.

Once you’ve logged in you will be presented with a set of folders (Cyberduck MAC OSX Window).

Note the two files outlined here in red for illustration purposes.

“NJAALIB Release Updates.doc” is a chronological list of the updates to the site.

“NJAA Imaging Ref Dec_2011.xls” is a comprehensive spreadsheet with various calculations and tables of information for our equipment combinations at NJAA.

Our newest acquisition is a Starlight Xpress SXVR-H18 CCD camera, off axis guider, guide cam and filter wheel.

Below is a sample from the spreadsheet that shows the pertinent information regarding this equipment package.

As you can see all the calculations are done for you!  My inspiration for creating this spreadsheet was simple.  I wanted to provide our members with a simple single source of information for all the possible photo equipment configurations at NJAA.

So please take an opportunity to login and review the wealth of information available at the site.
